Hotmail - The message is too big to be completely displayed. Only the first 768 KB is shown

Have you encountered this message while viewing your mail using Hotmail - “The message is too big to be completely displayed. Only the first 768 KB is shown”

Well if you are under the impression that there is a solution to it (as I too was hoping before writing this post), then you are in for a surprise! This “feature” is supposedly “by design” and the only solution to it is to configure your mail account in an email client like Windows Live Mail and then read the mail. I am sure the Hotmail product team is aware of this “design decision” (and the frustration it causes), as it has been there from quite some time. I can only hope that someone from the team takes a different view to it and starts considering it as an issue that needs to be resolved as soon as possible!
