Rick: The best way would be to add the class attribute to the elements you want to disable.

For eg: let us assume if you have added class="myele" to the elements - write the following code

$('.myele').attr('disabled', 'disabled');

Similarly if you want to disable all input elements inside a div

$('#myDiv :input'
